DPD Hungary supports Alternative Cars
DPD Hungary has competed to the second 'Electromobile Race'
DPD Hungary sponsored the ECET (Electrical Car Engineering) team, one of the 76 competitors of the Electromobile Race organised on the occasion of the Earth Day.
On this day environmental protection was the principal message.
“I think it is important for us to do something on behalf of future generations. Any solutions which the younger generation of engineers can design to help create a cleaner environment will make an essential contribution to this," states Csilla Hosszú, DPD Hungary’s Managing Director.
The challenge of the race was to build an environmentally-friendly car, with only 6 pieces of cordless percussion drill available to design the drive mechanism of the vehicle.
76 teams of students from high educational institutions entered the race with their ecological cars they produced themselves.
DPD Hungary’s team was from Szent István University Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
"We find it important to promote the team and this initiative, because DPD ships a major proportion of its parcels by road, and it is our aim to make a contribution towards reducing emissions. I hope that DPD will one day be delivering parcels to consignees using alternative drive cars."
