This vehicle is a platform with 3 or 4 wheels, with 126 kg and including a container with a capacity of 300Kg (1,3 m3). In the streets and sidewalks, it can be driven by a joystick and is compatible with the restrict traffic areas in historic and/or pedestrian places.
"Chronopost Portugal just purchased 2 more electric vehicles, the first one will begin shortly to circulate in the streets of Lisbon, the second is for road shows around the country" refers Olivier Establet, CEO of Chronopost Portugal, “Chronocitys answer to the objectives of cities to create areas for quiet and clean vehicles”.
Olivier Establet also said that the investment in green vehicles will extend next year with the acquisition of Renault Kangoo Express ZE (Zero Emission), a new vehicle created by Renault and Nissan that will be launch in Portugal next year. "We were invited to participate in the first tests in early 2011", refers Olivier Establet.
Since the beginning of the year, Chronopost Portugal has renewed entirely the fleet of 350 vehicles for PUD routes compatible with the second generation of biodiesel (B30), creating tanks for this fuel at the Depots.
