GeoPost carbon assessment

GeoPost carbon assessment

Committing to a proactive process in the fight against greenhouse gases is an economic and a business issue for our profession.

Transport (freight and passengers) is the second largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in Europe - with 82% of transport being by road. It is also a business issue, since more and more companies are asking their suppliers about what they are doing to help improve the environment.

GeoPost has carried out a carbon footprint assessment in order to find means of reducing the amount of carbon emitted per parcel transported. It is not about stopping transporting parcels but about better understanding the emission of carbon along our entire “supply chain”.

This approach will also allow us how to better structure our sustainable development approach and will help us to improve our collective performance

You will find hereafter the interview of an ADEME (French Environment and Energy Management Agency) expert Mr. Grégory FAUVEAU (Environment Management Engineer) who will introduce the main features of a carbon assessment and its use among Groups in France (link) and the way GeoPost worked on this particular subject (link)
